The base is used to install the power unit, winch, turntable, and support the mast. It helps to suspend the drilling tools with the turntable, providing height between the turntable and the ground to install necessary blowout preventers (BOPs) and facilitate mud circulation.

The base structure includes various types such as sled-type, truck-mounted, trailer-mounted, box-type, double-lifting, and rotary lifting types:

The box-type structure has a higher front base, meeting the requirements for the installation of standard BOP groups, and a lower rear base suitable for installing heavy-duty winches and power units.

The double-lifting structure is used for electric-driven drilling rigs. The drilling platform and surface equipment can be installed at a low position, and the mast is raised at the low position before the entire platform and mast are lifted.

The rotary-lifting structure allows low-position installation of the drilling platform and surface equipment. The mast is installed at a low position and then lifted.
